Youthentity: Health is the greatest wealth – empowering the next generation
Youthentity
At Youthentity, we’re proud to offer a health-focused program that introduces students to the dynamic field of health sciences, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to pursue rewarding careers in this essential industry. Through engaging classroom instruction, hands-on field trips, and inspiring guest speakers, students explore the diverse career opportunities within health care.
In the classroom, students delve into foundational subjects that underpin health professions, including anatomy, physiology, chemistry, nutrition, and medical terminology. These lessons form the framework for understanding the science behind health occupations. Beyond the classroom, we create memorable experiences that bring learning to life — whether through field trips or connections with community leaders.
This program is a transformative opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to grow both professionally and personally. It helps students identify their interests, develop a clearer vision for their future, and chart a path toward achieving their goals. Building strong community connections is a cornerstone of our program. These connections provide students with invaluable resources, including letters of recommendation, internships, and job opportunities, giving them a competitive edge as they step into the workforce.
What sets this program apart is its emphasis on real-world experiences. Students don’t just learn about careers — they live them. By stepping out of traditional classrooms and into the community, they meet potential mentors, engage in hands-on activities, and witness the day-to-day realities of working in health care.
Our curriculum spans a broad range of fields, from dental, nursing, and midwifery to nutrition and therapy. For instance, students visit the Public Health Department in Glenwood to learn about public health initiatives. They also collaborate with Wind Walker Ranch, a local nonprofit, where they explore the role of equine therapy in health care.
The demand for health professionals continues to grow as our nation grapples with significant health challenges. Despite the United States spending more on health care annually than any other country, our life expectancy ranks 49th globally — far behind many developed nations. Programs like ours aim to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals who can help address these critical issues and improve the health and well-being of our communities.
At Youthentity, we believe that if we can give students the tools they need, then they can be successful despite whatever challenges they may face. We believe every student deserves the chance to be a part of a bright and healthy future. With your support, we can continue to offer an exceptional education that equips our students with the skills they need to succeed. Join us in making a difference — together, we can build a stronger community, one health professional at a time.
