Greene: Appreciation for Aspen Gents

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Aspen Gents rugby team for showing up at Wagner Park on March 16 for an impromptu rugby day in support of Best Buddies. The team not only ran drills and skills, but also organized an inclusive, non-tackle match with the Best Buddies participants.

Best Buddies is an incredible organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. As a volunteer and a nominee for Best Buddies Champion of the Year, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the profound impact this organization has on the lives of so many.

Also a big thank you to Paradise Bakery, Zane’s Tavern, and Timberline Bank for their generous donations of food, drinks, and sunglasses.

Best Buddies is always in need of support, especially for their Adult Citizens Friendship Program. If you’re interested in helping, I encourage you to sign up and make a difference.

The Gents kick off their season on April 26 at Willits Field, with the Jr. Gents taking the pitch first for their match. Don’t miss it!
