Silver Queen Gondola to begin summer operations May 25, Snowmass’ Elk Camp Gondola to open June 21

Summer is right around the corner and Aspen Snowmass has a calendar full of events and activities for all to enjoy.
Operating dates and hours
The Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain will be open the weekend of May 25 through May 27. Starting June 1, the Silver Queen will be open on weekends through Sept. 29, according to a press release from Aspen Snowmass. The Silver Queen Gondola will be open daily from June 15 through Sept. 2. Hours for the Silver Queen Gondola are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with last ride down at 4:30 p.m.
At Snowmass, the Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlifts will be open daily from June 21 through Sept. 2. Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlifts will also be open on weekends in September. The Gondola hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last ride up for foot passengers at 4:45 p.m. and for bikers at 5 p.m. The last ride down will be at 5 p.m.
The Elk Camp Chairlift will be open from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. with the last ride down at 4 p.m. The last ride up will be 3:45 p.m. for foot passengers and 4 p.m. for bikers. The Meadows Lift will be open from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and has no downloading. The last ride up Meadows lift is at 2:45 p.m. for foot passengers and 3 p.m. for bikers.
Events and activities
Lost Forest
The Lost Forest is an immersive on-mountain collection of activities located at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola on Snowmass. Its features include the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, Canopy Run Zipline Tour, Treeline Trial Challenge ropes course, Rugged Ascent Climbing Wall and more. The Lost Forest also features miles of hiking trails in Snowmass, a high-mountain fishing pond, and disc golf for adventurers of any age.
From June 21- Sept. 2, Lost Forest will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weekend-only operations begin Sept. 6-29. Visit the Lost Forest web page for more information and to make reservations.
Snowmass Bike Park
The Snowmass Bike Park features more than 25 miles of diverse gravity trails ranging from beginner friendly and flowing single track to dynamic and challenging technical descents. Located in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, which is one of only seven of the world’s designated IMBA Gold-Level Ride Centers, the lift-served bike park extends nearly 3,000 vertical feet from the top of the Elk Camp Chairlift down to Snowmass Base Village. Single-day tickets to the Snowmass Bike Park are available for $61 and a three-day ticket is offered at $149. The bike park season pass is available for $376. A 50% discounted rate on the season pass is available for Aspen Snowmass winter season passholders, offered at $188. Mountaintop Yoga on Ajax
From June 17 through Aug. 31, yoga classes will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday atop Aspen Mountain. The all-levels yoga is held outdoors next to the Sundeck and costs $25, with $5 of the proceeds benefiting the Caring for Community Fund. Access to the top of the mountain for yoga requires a sightseeing ticket or other lift access to the gondola. Visit the website for more information.
Classical Saturdays & Bluegrass Sundays at Aspen Mountain
Live music returns to Aspen Mountain weekends with Classical Saturdays and Bluegrass Sundays. The Classical Saturdays series kicks off on July 6 and the Bluegrass Sundays series on June 16. Enjoy live music with food and beverages from the Sundeck. The events are free with the purchase of a sightseeing ticket or other lift pass access. Audi Power of Four Trail Run – July 20
The Audi Power of Four Trail Run returns Saturday, July 20. This premier endurance race features a series of trails connecting the four Aspen Snowmass mountains, sending racers across 50K of terrain and ascending nearly 10,000 vertical feet. The race begins at the base of Aspen Mountain and will finish in Snowmass Base Village. The event also offers a 25K race along the Government Trail, covering Buttermilk and Snowmass mountains, and a 10K option beginning at the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass and ending in the Snowmass Base Village. Audi Snowmass 50 Mountain Bike Race – Aug. 3
Aspen Snowmass will host the Audi Snowmass 50 Bike Race on Saturday, Aug. 3. Featuring 25 miles of some of the best single track mountain bike trails in Colorado, the race is broken into 50-mile solo racers who complete two laps, 25-mile solo racers who complete 1 lap and 50-mile teams of two where each rider completes one lap. Summer pass products, tickets & promotions
Single-ride sightseeing tickets are on sale for $37, which includes one ride up and down on either Aspen Mountain’s Silver Queen Gondola or Snowmass’s Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift. Three-day sightseeing tickets are available for $46 and include up to three days of Sightseeing on Aspen Mountain’s Silver Queen Gondola and Snowmass’ Elk Camp Gondola and chairlift, valid 3 of 7 days.
