Pitkin County commissioners sworn in

They’ve officially taken an oath for office.
On Tuesday, three newly elected Pitkin County commissioners were sworn in by Judge Laura Makar on the steps of the courthouse in Aspen.
In November, one-term District 5 incumbent Francie Jacober defeated challenger Toni Kronberg to retain her seat for another term. Two-term incumbent Greg Poschman ran unopposed in District 3 to retain his seat for a third term.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Woodruff, also having run unopposed in November, is the new District 4 representative. He replaces Steve Child, who had reached the 12-year term limit.
“It is an honor to serve Pitkin County on the Board of County Commissioners. Addressing the needs of our neighbors — from wildlife management, to emergency preparedness, to conserving open space and our watersheds are integral to enjoying our valley.” Woodruff said in a news release. “I truly respect and admire the work of Commissioner Steve Child for his contribution to the preservation of our valley. My Life as a Child by Bob Child, Steve’s dad, outlined a vision for land management of this beautiful place we call home.”
Kelly McNicholas Kury has replaced Poschman as board chair. Woodruff will serve as vice chair in instances of her absence.
The commissioners will convene next month for a retreat to set their priorities and goals for the upcoming year, according to the release.
