Mountain Mayhem: Celebrating Suite Reyad

Suite Reyad brought friends together for an intimate evening at The Snow Lodge on Wednesday, Feb. 19, celebrating the luxury hair salon’s history thus far and aspirations to come. Owners Reyad and Kylie (a.k.a. Jax) Fritas formed their business several years ago in New York City to redefine elegance in beauty with master craftsmanship, continuous innovation, and anticipatory service.
Since opening their first location in The Pierre Hotel in 2018 and their second location at The St. Regis Aspen in 2021, the husband-wife duo has developed relationships with clients worldwide and a team of stylists supporting their vision. They also recently introduced their own Suite Reyad product line available at both locations and online.
Kylie recounted the origins of their business when they opted to take a professional leap after 10-15 years of working for a French company in New York. They came across a location at The Pierre, which was exactly what they were looking for — private, chic, and a destination for busy New Yorkers.
“We wanted everyone to feel that they were walking into a Parisian apartment, cozy and at home, sipping Mariage Frères tea and receiving the most intimate service,” she described.
“Aspen was our second location, and we decided to partner with the world-renowned St Regis Aspen Resort. We came to check it out with a couple of pop ups in 2020 and decided we not only loved the lifestyle, but also the unique market that this place offers. We now see the beauty of having our specific clientele/network and how both locations serve them greatly. Working on a third…
“When we entered a hotel in Marrakech years ago, we knew we wanted to create the same journey for our clients. The perfumer we had been referred to in New York had ironically created the scent for this hotel, and we worked with him to create something magical for our clients (with the new product line). With the likes of Le Labo and Byredo, he uses all-natural ingredients and is all about sustainability – something that was important to us when creating this line. It is all-natural, sulfate, phosphate, cruelty-free. It does not strip your hair of all that it needs to keep the body, movement, shine – it also does not disrupt our bodies, hormones etc. Date seed oil is our hero ingredient – it promotes a healthy scalp, strength in hair, and hair growth! We did our research on what the women in the Algerian Berber communities in the mountains used to keep their hair so luscious and growing. (Reyad grew up in Paris but is 100% Algerian.) We have seen the results from our own clients – their hair is recovering and growing.”
For the special occasion at The Snow Lodge, the Fritases felt the love, surrounded by a network of friends and business associates, which to Kylie, was “a testimony to the support we have received, and we are so grateful to be able to contribute to this community.”
