Highway 82 westbound open at Snowmass Canyon

Update: Crashes clear, road open.

Update: No injured parties were transported from the seven-vehicle crash, according to Pitkin County’s Chief Deputy of Operations Parker Lathrop. The highway remains closed until CDOT plow trucks can sand the iced area further.

According to a PitkinAlert, Highway 82 westbound is closed at approximately mile marker 31 (Snowmass Canyon) due to a traffic accident.

It advises drivers to use Lower River Road as a detour. Expected length of this event is unknown.
