Dear Editor:

Thanks to the selection committee who chose Cliff Colia to be the new principal at Roaring Fork High School and to the new school board who let the decision stand. Five years ago, 200 people let their voices be heard at a school board meeting when former president Robin Garvik and former superintendent Fred Wall were attempting to remove Cliff from the district. A community stood up then, and has continued to stand up in order to get the leadership they deserve.

Now, with Cliff hailed as a successful and beloved principal, we can move forward to build the innovative and responsive high school programs our kids are entitled to. I would encourage the community to participate in supporting Cliff, and all of our deserving leaders in their tireless quest to educate the children of the valley.
